The Impossible Task of Recasting WHAT'S EATING GILBERT GRAPE

I was watching What's Eating Gilbert Grape the other day and I was really taken with the acting performances. Each cast member brought a great amount of depth and sincerity to their role. I thought, “wow this movie really could not have been cast any better.”

Then, for one reason or another, I got to thinking about the impossible task of casting a re-make of the movie with today's young actors and actresses. Here is what I came up with:
